Boels Rental is introducing a new brand of compactors in its construction rental fleet: the Ammann APF 15/40 forward-moving vibratory plate compactor. On Boels’ request, Ammann replaced the unit’s standard engine with a Vanguard® 200 single-cylinder, 4.9 Gross kW*, generating more power and halving service intervals, resulting in reduced oil wastage and recycling. The first batch of compactors is expected to be delivered beginning of March 2020.
Easy handling, for challenging materials and environments
The Ammann APF 15/40 forward-moving vibratory plate compactor is ideal for rental companies and their customers. Easy to operate, it offers a perfect allrounder for soil, asphalt and paving stone compaction. The compactor’s high-technology exciter unit provides the forward-moving power needed to handle challenging materials and steep grades, while requiring no maintenance. With state of the art guide handles with lowest hand-arm vibration protect from unwanted vibrations and enable precise machine control.
Higher productivity, with low vibration and reduced TCO
The request from Boels to fit Vanguard in the proven compactor model provided a perfect opportunity for Ammann to evaluate the engines in a real context. “This customer request has given us the opportunity to test the new Vanguard 200 engine and put it through its paces,” comments Patrick Stellwag, Key Account Manager – Rental of Ammann Group. “The Ammann/Vanguard package offers Boels many benefits including a lower TCO. Based on these successful results, we will consider using Vanguard engines in more of our construction equipment.”
Guy Cremer, Boels’ Director of Fleet Operations, looks forward to introducing the Ammann APF 15/40 compactors to the rental fleet, and its customers. “Making the best quality, user-friendly equipment accessible to our customers remains a key goal for us. Ammann products are a good fit for our rental fleet because they are both easy to operate and durable. The new Vanguard powered plate compactors offer customers an enhanced customer experience by way of an easier simplified starting process, lower vibration and provide powerful compaction. With the extended service intervals of the engine it also allows us to reduce our oil waste and recycling.”
Paul Bramhall, Senior Manager Marketing – commercial engines at Briggs & Stratton, highlights: “We are grateful for the continued confidence that Boels shows in our brand and are pleased to have the opportunity to prove the value of our engines to construction equipment market leaders such as Ammann. We look forward to supporting both companies in achieving their complementary goals.”
